Artistic Practice &Process

Adrianna MJW’s work develops from a close relationship with the environments she inhabits. Based in Megève, she has built a deep, long-term knowledge of her territory through a regular practice of extended mountain walks, which directly inform her artistic process. Her photographic work follows a formal approach closely related to drawing and painting. Images are constructed rather than recorded, shaped by lines, structures, rhythms, and silence.

She works primarily with her iPhone, used as an artistic tool in a search for essence, the soul of place and the relationship between landscape, architecture, and memory. Her photography privileges reduction, abstraction, and a distilled representation of the environment rather than descriptive documentation.

Her painting practice is more introspective, guided by emotion and the transformation of images. She works mainly with acrylics in her studio in Megève, where photography and painting continuously inform one another. For her photographic works, Adrianna MJW collaborates with specialized fine art printers abroad, using carefully selected museum-grade papers. Alongside autonomous artworks, she also develops commissioned projects in collaboration with galleries, institutions, and public bodies, focusing on landscape, architecture, and the memory of places.
